Can You Deny Yourself Daily? – A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle Book Review

Talk about ego and spirituality is quite common now days.

The universe has our back and all that meditation heals stuff. But what does it all mean and is it for you?

I was watching Oprah’s Super Soul Sessions and Eckhart Tolle was on. Oprah said “if you are going to read one book in your life, read ‘A New Earth’ by Eckhart Tolle.” That’s the only recommendation I needed to hear.

A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose (Oprah’s Book Club, Selection 61)

And then a neighbor was kind enough to get me a copy for my birthday. Whoot whoot! Thank you, Universe!!

My family and I dove in. Reading a little bit each night. Welcoming the nuggets of knowledge and feeling ourselves becoming more awakened as each page turned.

What I loved:

Eckhart explains things wonderfully in this book. The examples really helped us to see how the concepts could be seen in our lives and how we could start to lose ourself to find our Self.

That we could read a few pages a day and it left us with something to ponder.

We were able to understand what was being said.

Though we may not know exactly what happened, we did feel a shift in our life and mindset as we read the book and it continues now that we have finished the book.

It encouraged me to live more in the present moment and I can now bring myself to the present easily when I catch myself being in the past or future.

He explains the ego in such a way, it actually makes sense.

I wanted more!

My husband and I had some pretty incredible conversations as we read through this book together.

If you are someone looking to understand the ego on a deeper level and what you can do about it, this is a wonderful book.

This book is one that I will read again in my life. I could even pick it up and read a few pages here and there for a boost of awareness.

What is something you got out of the book? Please share in the comments. 🙂

Have a gorgeous day!

Much Love,

Steph
