I believe that magic arrives daily in our lives.
This magic is in my child’s laughter, in his hugs, in his eyes as he learns the world around him and beyond.
This magic is in my husband’s love. The gentle touch, the forgiveness, the mundane chores, and the little glances.
This magic is in my friends. The sharing, encouraging, listening, and experiencing together as we blend our worlds. When someone is there for me in the good times and bad, because they love me, and hardly see my flaws. They see my heart.
This magic is in strangers. The courteousness that is present when walking in to the store or crossing the street. The smiles when our eyes meet.
I believe to better the world we focus on the good.
I stand for peace, love, & kindness. Of course this means the opposite of these are what I want to lessen. Therefore, I can give them no attention. My words, time, and thoughts are given to how I can add more love… more good. Not just for my home, but for the world.
I believe in forgiveness.
I tried on resentment and grudges. It held me down and tore at my soul. This was beyond heart injury. This was soul bleeding. And the only way to heal was to let go. Let go of the anger, resentment, thinking of how I would have treated others differently if they were in my shoes. I had to let go of the pain I was clinging to. And invite forgiveness in. Daily. Until one day, I didn’t have to think of it anymore, it just was.
I believe that opportunities are always around us.
It is up to us to take them. To open our eyes and see them. To listen to the world and those around us so that we are tuned into what is going on around us.
I believe in the importance of giving.
Because it feels good to give. Regardless of how well I know someone or if perhaps they are using me. I have many things to give. My giving is not reserved for only those closest to me. If there is a chance for me to give, to add more kindness to the world, I gladly give. The world benefits. We are all connected.
This means I also believe in asking and receiving help, for myself and others. It is incredibly hard for people to ask for help. People do not ask for help because it seems like the fun and easy thing to do. They ask for help because their world is in danger and they want to survive.
I believe in building people up.
So many want to tear people down. This is so confusing to me and I just can’t understand it. Nor do I want to. There is enough pain in life. Why add more? Build, build, build. Nourish, support, encourage, and celebrate others and what they are set out to do.
Women love other women. Cutting them down is injuring your heart and their’s. We can have two different opinions and still be friends. I can be fit and you can be overweight, and we can both be beautiful. You can be serious and I can be funny, we are both valuable. I can be me and you can be you, and we both matter and hurt when others use words against us.
I believe the trolls and bullies of the world desperately need a huge dose of love and kindness.
They could probably benefit from a big fat bear hug as well. Their life is hurting and they are seeking to feel better. Hoping that if they hurt others with their words or fists that they will feel better. However, it just adds more pain. Once they can see and realize they do have the ability to change their life, they can release the cruel act. And then receive and give love.
I believe compassion and empathy matter in the healing of the world and ourselves.
If we lived a life leading with love… oh could you imagine how lovely that would be? Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a world that knew the importance of our connection and relationships and acted in line with that? I believe one day compassion will be the norm.
I believe that what we put in and on our bodies matters so much in regards to our health.
The more we know the better we can do. Continue to learn. It matters so much more how you are treating your body than what size you are. This body is the only one we get. We can build it up or tear it down. And it all starts in our head, then the kitchen and the bathroom.
I believe in meditation and a spiritual connection.
This has been the balance in my life and the way I have made it through any challenge. When counselors used to ask me how I could make it through everything I had been through and be the person I was. My answer was always, God. I do not go to church anymore. I can connect with Spirit anywhere, anytime. All’s I have to do is breathe.
I believe love will change the world.
As the world and the people in it continue to hurt and when we feel like there is nothing we can do or feel completely helpless. Love. Choose love. Have your actions match love in all the moments you can. Give back. Be present. See the good. And then create even more good.
